WHAT GOOD IS LIFE WITHOUT MUSIC AND ART??

When asked what my dream job would be, I often replied with “If I could perform, teach lessons, and paint a mural everyday, I’d be a happy girl!” I love singing! I love drawing and painting! I love playing my instruments!! That sums up most of what I’m made of. My goal with this website is to show you just that.

 

I have been making music as long as I can remember starting with singing, then including the piano, followed by the clarinet, then snowballing into the rest of the woodwind family…even visiting some percussion, tuba and euphonium along the way! Although I did not begin seriously drawing and painting until later in life, they have become such an integral part of life that I almost can’t remember a time when I was NOT doing them.

 

I am very fortunate to come from a seriously artistic family. My mother is a very talented artist in both painting and sewing. I have learned a great deal by her meticulous attention to detail. Both of my sisters also have artistic skills. One, very capable of drawing, is currently exercising her creativity as an architect. The other one, in addition to being a singer (we knock out some fierce duets!), spent many years doing highly coveted “doodles” and designs that I still refer back to when creating my own works. My aunt in Norway, also terribly talented, creates fantastic original images that I’m terribly envious of! Another aunt in Norway has spent many years singing in the Norwegian opera, while my great aunt made her career as a designer for the Opera. My father, though not a practicing artist exactly, is always an enthusiastic supporter of the arts and my work!!

 

I can’t imagine my life filled with anything other than music and art. They ARE my life. And I love nothing more than sharing it with anyone who will let me!
